Title: BEE'S BOPPIN'

Description: Bee's Boppin' is an exciting and challenging up tempo (240+=BPM) big band chart based on rhythm changes. Dave originally wrote and dedicated this chart to his lovely wife, Denise, a trombonist who has been working on rhythm changes. This chart challenges the entire saxophone section with solos, two separate soliÕs, and a tutti section. Solos featured are piano, drums, and two tenors, and there is space to feature additional soloists if desired. The chart begins with a piano solo followed by a traditional Kansas City riff melody in the saxophones, with backgrounds, melodies, and fills in the brass. Immediately following the head there is a very challenging saxophone soli followed by solos with the tenors and piano. After the solos there is a stop-time sax soli with the string bass and piano leading into the shout chorus then back to the head and out. This chart, while being very challenging for the band, has been proven to be a real crowd pleaser is a definite opener or closer for any jazz concert. Style: Hard-Bop (240+=BPM)Trumpet highest note F5 concert E flat two octaves and a third above middle C. Instrumentation: 5,4,4,G,P,B,D. Medium Difficult.
